fter I decided on an early  retirement and became a Life  Coach, I suddenly realized I  had plenty more to do and give  and a strong desire to help others.

It all started in January 2019, when I decided to take a trip to Luang Prabang,  Laos.  This was not just any trip, mind you, but it was something in a much  deeper  level. A feeling of wanting to explore the old city in the deepest way I can.   What is more, Luang Prabang is truly amazing, unique, its richness in culture, and   the people are so loving and kind, they make sure you felt at home.

Apart from my positive experience, this is where I felt a sudden urge to get involve   and be part of their world. I’ve decided to embark on a charity project. The 7 Pearl  Living Foundation.

This project spoke to me on a personal and emotional level.  My walls were down, I was vulnerable, and I had a certain awareness that life comes along with some challenges.  For this reason, I’ve decided to volunteer teaching English to children and help others in need.

aving travelled to Thailand and South East Asia several times, fed me with the interest of experiencing something new – so my wife and I decided to head for Luang Prabang in Laos.

The colonial architecture and the history of this city, being UNESCO World Heritage, all sounded nice to combine five days of vacation in Laos with Thailand in January 2019. We travelled as open-minded tourists and were eager to explore a new place and culture.

What a superb welcome! I have never felt such warm and sincere smiles in my life before! Every moment felt so honest and true that I simply wanted to have more of this genuineness in my life. One evening, we enjoyed a great dinner at the Mekong river and had a nice conversation on local family traditions and exchanging stories with our young waiter. As we left the restaurant, we heard a voice and on seeing him, the boy yelled: “ I need to say good bye to you! Next time, please come with me and visit my family in the mountains – then we all can have dinner together!” Ever since, we have kept in touch.

he best way to teach love is to be love.” This is one of the 33 foundation principles we have been taught or reminded of, while studying to become professional coaches. While reflecting on this principle, I realized we can not study to become what we already are. Love is our essence.

It has been a journey of 33 years for me to come to a door, which I have been longing to open… The door, which warmly invited me to a world of simplicity, joy, love, presence, song and laughter. I was 10 years old myself when vocalized a dream to become a teacher. With the wisdom of my journey, I found out that my life has a meaning only when I openly and unconditionally give and share love. I am so aligned with my purpose in 7Pearl Living Foundation, which I am so proud to be part of.

To spread love to our children, our most precious jewels and gifts in this world…is the most amazing experience one can have. And the life labyrinth of joy and pain brought me to this door…It opened up and the light got in.

“It is not how much love we do, but how much love we put into doing it. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”  -Mother Teresa
